Water Power Pack Case Study

Location: Aberdeen

Duchy Hydraulics Ltd received a web enquiry from Subsea Systems which are a division of Cameron Ltd, a world renowned deepwater petrochemical production and systems company.  Subsea systems required a ethylene glycol/water power pack, specifically to be used for the pressure testing of sub-sea manifolds with the added ability to run power tools from the same unit.

Our Head Engineer was quick to grasp that the use of water as a pumping medium meant a completely new source of supply of components. As we pride ourselves in delivering exceptional customer service, a clean sheet approach was taken in the system design to ensure that all specifications were met. Once preliminary drawings had been made, our engineers began sourcing the components that would be needed in the manufacture & build of a water based power pack constantly striving to get the best value for money for Subsea Systems.

After several consultations with the client, our engineers drew up the proposals making sure that their requirements were not only met but were exceeded. The ordering of components and construction began immediately after the client had approved the proposals. Contact with the client was maintained throughout the build to fine tune the final product.

As the project neared conclusion the team at Duchy Hydraulics collated all the necessary test certificates and certificates of conformity before the power pack was shipped out to Aberdeen on schedule, as specified to our very satisfied customers at Subsea Systems.
